Every weekend my husband & I would accompany our children for their swimming lessons and we would sat at one corner watching them going through the lesson. One day I told my husband it was not fun watching from the poolside and we should also be joining our kids having fun in the pool.
I enrolled for a swimming lesson at the age of 40! Well….it was better late than never. With no basic swimming skills and have never even dipped my head into the swimming pool, going for swimming lesson was both terrifying and exciting. But me being me….I will always want to take the challenge and started my swimming lesson. Two months later…..yahoooo….I can swim like a fish!
Swimming is good for your health and swimming is also fun activity for family. When you can join your kids in the pool…..it feels so great!!
I also encouraged friends to join this fun activity and during my participation with Jom Kurus 1Malaysia, we organised aquarobics in the pool. It was fun!!
So, as the expert said……swimming is a good all-round activity because it….keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body. builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness, helps maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs.
Now, you should not have any second thoughts about swimming. Why? Because……swimming is a healthy, low-cost activity that you can continue throughout your life. Swimming is a low-impact activity that has many physical and mental health benefits. Swimming is a great workout because you need to move your whole body against the resistance of the water. Let’s do it!!
